You can work hard, handle a multitude of tasks, spend hours at the office, and get everything done on time. You want that promotion, but all this hard work will not translate into a promotion.
The question you need to answer is "How am i adding value?" Am I making a difference to my team? Am I making things easier? Have I created a kick ass process that everyone is cheering about? Have I found a way to communicate with colleagues that is more efficient?
When you are living in your tasks, explore how you might elevate what you're doing. What changes can you make? How can your team and manager benefit? Remember, it's value add that makes people take notice.
